Endowment gifts may be made during a donor’s lifetime (for example, with gifts of cash, securities, insurance policies, or real property) and beyond a donor’s lifetime through estate planning. When you donate to our endowment, you give a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits. Hill’s current endowment spending policy is to draw 4.5% of the trailing three-year rolling average of the endowment’s market value to be spent each year, with the remaining earnings added to the principal.
Named Endowed Fund – Unrestricted Use
This fund can be named for a family member or in honor of someone. The fund will exist in perpetuity within Hill Learning Center’s endowment holdings. It is unrestricted, and the annual draw from the fund goes to general support each year. A named unrestricted endowed fund can be established with a gift or pledge of at least $25,000. Pledges can be paid out over multiple years, and only when the endowment is fully funded will funds be drawn for use.
Named Endowed Fund – Restricted Use
This fund can be named for a family member or in honor of someone and will exist in perpetuity within Hill Learning Center’s endowment holdings to support a designated purpose that is important to you. For example, it can support student financial aid, educator professional learning, educational technology, or another aspect of Hill’s programs. A named endowed fund can be established with a gift or pledge of at least $25,000.
Gift to an Established Endowed Fund
You may choose to support an existing fund with a contribution of any amount. While this option does not provide naming opportunities, it does allow your gift to reside in Hill Learning Center’s endowment and can help support a specific purpose if desired. A list of existing endowed funds you may wish to support can be found here.
In April 2005, Hill established The Anne Gibson Hill Legacy Society, after the co-founder of Hill School, to recognize those who support Hill Learning Center through their estate plans.

A legacy gift to Hill Learning Center helps to bolster our financial security and ensure that our programs and services will continue to help all students with learning differences and attention challenges receive the instruction and support they need – regardless of where they attend school or whether they have a formal diagnosis.
