Fuel Our Future: Join Us in Deepening Local Impact

Home / Support / Fuel Our Future

Since our founding in 1977, Hill has been the sole organization in the Triangle working in both public and private school settings to meet the needs of students with learning differences. For over 45 years, generous individuals, families, foundations, corporations, and community partners have helped fuel our mission and extend our reach. Our new strategy requires sustained and expanded philanthropic donations to invest in the crucial people, programs, and partnerships that support our community’s students, families, educators, and schools.

Strategic Fundraising Priorities

In September 2024, Hill announced a bold new strategy to deepen local impact by becoming a stronger resource to the Triangle community and a cornerstone of the local K-12 landscape. Philanthropic contributions to three critical fundraising priorities will fuel our success and accelerate learning and growth for more students, families, educators, and schools.

The Hill Fund supports every facet of Hill, including our talented educators, research-based programs, and optimal learning environment.

EXAMPLES:
  • Ensuring small group instruction with supplemental supports to meet each student’s unique needs.
  • Investing in advanced multisensory math and structured literacy certifications for all Hill faculty.
  • Providing families with dynamic data and resources to better support their children at home and at school.
  • Raising awareness and destigmatizing learning differences through initiatives such as our free Community Education Series and presentations on learning differences and ADHD to different audiences.

Every dollar raised for Expanding Access directly supports a student or teacher at Hill or in local public schools.

EXAMPLES:
  • Increasing annual financial aid for families who could not otherwise attend Hill School.
  • Expanding tutoring and summer program scholarships to reach more students with significant need.
  • Developing strong partnerships with local public schools and nonprofits to help meet the needs of their students, families, and educators.
  • Supporting local public schools with teacher training scholarships and in-school reading tutors.

Innovation funds help Hill translate cutting-edge research and practice into impact.

EXAMPLES:
  • Creating new executive function offerings to provide educators and families with proven strategies to support students in the classroom and at home.
  • Co-developing new family supports with nonprofits and schools serving diverse populations across the Triangle community.
  • Reimagining Hill’s playground as an inclusive space to meet each student’s unique movement, sensory, social, and emotional needs.
  • Cultivating new partnerships with universities, nonprofits, and experts in learning differences, literacy, and ADHD.
