Reading Methodology Tutoring Classes

Hill’s reading classes utilize our methodology to support students experiencing reading difficulties through a multisensory, Orton-Gillingham-based approach. Modeled after Hill School, the class provides individualized instruction using a 4:1 student-teacher ratio. Students are assessed at the beginning of class, and informally throughout sessions, so instruction can target specific skills. Instruction is focused on teaching reading fundamentals through a phonics-based approach that includes the components of drill, phonological awareness, word attack, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

• Mon/Wed 9:30-10:30 AM October 7 – January 15 (off 12/23-1/3)
• Mon/Wed 4:00-5:00 PM October 7 – January 15 (off 12/23-1/3)
• Tues/Thurs 5:00-6:00 PM October 8 – January 25 (off 10/31, 12/23-1/3 & 1/21)

4th-6th Grade:

• Mon/Wed 10:30-11:30 AM October 7 – January 15 (off 12/23-1/3)
• Mon/Wed 4:00-5:00 PM October 7 – January 15 (off 12/23-1/3)
• Tues/Thurs 4:00-5:00PM October 8 – January 25 (off 10/31, 12/23-1/3 & 1/21)
