From Theory to Practice: Navigating Through Our Language Laboratory with Dr. Antonio Fierro
This event is being sponsored by 95 Percent Group.
This session will define the many facets of language and how each can affect students’ learning processes, especially for English learners. A special focus will be placed on effective practices for teaching the lexical elements of words to build vocabulary. Connections to cognitive science will be made, and a closer review of cross-linguistic connections will be discussed. The PLUSS framework, as a guiding element for instructional preparation for ELs, will also be explored.
Audience: K-6 classroom teachers, teachers of multilingual learners, reading specialists, interventionists and coaches
