Individual
Utilizing the same teaching techniques as Hill School, Hill Tutoring offers individual instruction in the subjects of Reading, Writing, and Math in a 1:1 format for students in grades K-12.
Tutoring allows students who may be struggling academically to work on an individualized program with a tutor. Students are assessed and placed according to their individual strengths and needs, with ongoing assessment and progress monitoring. Students needing foundational skills receive our Orton-Gillingham based methodologies, while older students receive content tutoring.
While no diagnosis is required for Hill Tutoring, students enrolled often have a diagnosis of attention deficit disorders or specific learning differences in reading, writing, and math. Our program is not designed to support students with persistent or primary emotional or behavioral needs.
All Hill Tutors are trained in Hill methodology and receive ongoing professional development. All individual tutoring is offered at an hourly rate of $80 per hour. For methodology students, we recommend attending tutoring twice per week.
For optimal results, Hill Tutoring recommends two one-hour sessions per week.
Understanding Individual Tutoring
Hill offers individual tutoring in-person at Hill’s campus in Durham or virtually Monday – Friday from 3:45pm – 8:00pm. Limited daytime and weekend options are also available.
